Tips for Leaderships in Children - "Born to be a leader" is familiar sentence to describe an outstanding achievement of someone who has fame in his leadership. Is it really such a destiny? Actually, leadership is something to learn. Even it should be started at children's early ages. There are some simple steps to follow.
First, parents should set an example in terms of integrity. Children are trained to talk frankly as normative rule in the family. If parents read them a story about a value of life as a theme, they should give more explanation, for instances, an analogy of children's true experience with their friends or an exploration of hidden message inside the story. This way makes the children memorize better about the values and they usually want to share them to their friends as well. Henceforth, children get used to communicating ideas to others.
Second, parents should encourage children to have confidence. Asking them to visit other family shall train the socialization with many kinds of people. They can also be encouraged to follow small competition or performance on stage. Then, parents should find the good things and tell them about it. Actually, there should be at least one good thing each day and they should praise children accordingly. It is great to give praise and spirits habit starting from simple words like "good work." If children have tried then failed, simply say "It is OK" and underline that it is not the achievement children should pursue but lessons and learning.
Third, parents can help children to improve creativity. They should ask open questions such as why, how about, what will happen if, etc. They can dig up more information and train their children to explore their own opinion. Whatever answer or opinion, parents should pay attention to it. They should not negate or laugh at what children say. They should not instruct them to think the way the parents think either. If parents need to give their opinion, they should listen to their children's. There should be example that everybody has a right to think differently from others so they have to give respect.
Fourth, training leadership means developing responsibility. If children make mistakes, parents should make sure that it was alright. Everybody cannot avoid of making mistakes sometimes. Probably it is easier to blame somebody else for it, however they have much more honor if they admit it so that they will not miss any lessons behind doing that. Besides, children from their early ages should learn responsibility to take care of their possessions and to spend their time. Here, discipline is also introduced from simple ways.
If there is an argument about how training leaderships to a child takes so much time, indeed it is absolutely right. However, parents should not forget that having children is like having investment. If they are not paying attention into details, they can get loss. They cannot predict how much loss they have if they miss only one treatment to their children since they are human. The good news is all kinds of trainings means putting something into habit. Therefore, parents will get used to it as well so they will never feel it hard to do.
